Tempe Beach Park

www.tempe.gov/lake/Recreation/TBP.htm

Room for the ruckus of a rock music festival with quiet space still remaining for a romantic walk, Tempe Beach Park allows visitors to experience Town Lake in the manner they wish.

This 25-acre park is Tempe’s premier special event space. Nearly every weekend visitors can participate in a 10K run, watch a concert or take part in a community festival. The innovative, $1.3 million Splash Playground lets kids safely get wet in the warmer weather. The historic baseball field is just the right size for youth softball or carnival games. The amphitheater accommodates 5,000 people comfortably for concerts or outdoor trade shows. Rio Lago Cruise Company operates its boat concession from this park.

Picnic Tables Reservations
Tempe residents can reserve a picnic table in Tempe Beach Park 60 days in advance for $10 per table. TBP picnic tables are shown on a map numbered one through six. The reservation can be made over the phone if it is two weeks in advance and charged on a major credit card. If under two weeks you can go to the Rio Salado Operations Center at 620 N. Mill Ave. showing two proofs of residency (one a picture ID) with your name and Tempe address.

Tempe Beach Park also has a large blue shaded Ramada with picnic tables underneath on a "first come first serve" basis. Another option is to bring your own table, chairs, and pop-up shade to be used in the park. For more information please call the Town Lake Operations Center at (480) 350-8625.
