Papago Salado

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department operates more than 200 parks throughout the city, including six desert-mountain parks.

City parks generally are open to the public from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Some smaller parks close earlier -- please check signs for hours at these sites.

Alcohol permits for Phoenix parks are available at all Parks District Offices and at the Parks and Recreation Department on the 16th floor of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St.

Required Permits

• Beer is allowed ONLY with a beer permit. Permits are $12.50.
• No glass bottles are permitted.
• Maximum capacities for ramadas and other picnic areas will be strictly enforced.
• Ramadas are available for reservations.

All ramadas are equipped with electricity (unless noted) and water, and are lighted. Additional details are listed below. Beer is permitted with an alcohol permit. Fees vary. Reservations times are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Maximum capacity guidelines for each area will be strictly enforced.

Papago Park has numerous reservable ramadas. All ramadas are equipped with electricity (unless noted) and water, and are lighted. Additional details are listed below.

• RAMADA #2 has four, 18-foot tables and three grills. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms located across roadway. There is available parking for 24 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 80. Fee: $35
• RAMADA #9 and #10 Island These ramadas must be reserved as a pair. They have eight tables of various sizes, two grills, and two fireplaces. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms located at Ranger Office. There is 42 parking spaces and available overflow parking in the Phoenix Zoo parking lot. Rental includes stage and a sand volleyball court. Maximum capacity is 150. Fee: $60
• RAMADA #11 (Lake #2) has two tables, one grill and one fireplace. Amplified music is NOT permitted. Restrooms at Ranger Office. Available Parking for 20 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 16. Fee: $25
• RAMADA #12 (Lake #1) has one 21-foot long table and one grill. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available Parking for 11 vehicles. Maximum capacity is 20. Electricity available only after sunset. Fee: $25
• RAMADA #13 (Lake #1 has one 21-foot long table and one grill. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available Parking for 11 vehicles. Maximum capacity is 20. Electricity available only after sunset. Fee: $25
• RAMADA #14 has two 21-foot long tables and two grills. Amplified Music is NOT Permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available parking for 12 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 40. Fee: $30
• RAMADA #15 has four tables and four grills. Amplified music is NOT permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available parking for 12 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 60. Fee: $30
• RAMADA #16 has four, 21-foot tables and three grills. Amplified music permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available parking for 20 vehicles. Maximum capacity is 80. Fee: $35
