Papago Salado Association

The Papago Salado Association was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1992 by the mayors of Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe.

The Papago Salado Association exists to preserve, protect, enhance and promote the cultural, historic, natural and recreational resources of the Papago Parks and Rio Salado Region.

The Governing Board includes elected and appointed officials of the three cities and representatives from the region's cultural institutions and business interests.

The Association's annual work program is planned and implemented by the Board of Directors through a number of working committees composed of staff from the municipalities, member institutions and allied organizations. A paid, part-time Executive Director and professional consultants support this work. Annual contributions from the participating entities fund the Association's administrative support of collaborative efforts. Monies for specific activities are raised on a project-by-project basis.
